First, the professor does acknowledge that China was the first one that invented the firearm, it was very troublesome to use and required 2 or more people to actually operate it, while the firearm that the Europeans used was much easier to handle and can be handled by just one soldier. Second, the professor says that it is true that first invention of the airplane WAS from from the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santon Dumont, he refutes that it wasn't really a plane in the first place; it was more like a blimp than an acutal airplane and was very dangerous to use and bulky. the Wright brothers were the ones that invented the modern plane with it being motorized instead of being powered by air and much safer to use.
