The plan that Magoosh laid out was really help for me to prepare the test. I took the 1 month study plan, and I followed it as best as I can. I didn't complete all the practice due to bad internet connection that I had while I'm gone. What I mean is that I have good connection where I live, but for days I had to go out of town for work where connection are generally bad. So I only relied on books that I brought with me. Anyway, the lessons were good. I watched all the video and followed all of the tips. |

Magoosh helped me in various ways, I'm satisfied a lot by the fact that Magoosh questions are generally a bit harder than the actual TOEFL!. Even though my result is not as high as other Magoosh students, I'm so satisfied with my result. 102 / 120 I could tell how Magoosh helped me with each of the TOEFL section. 1. In reading section, TOEFL requires not only the simple detail, but also the inference based on the text. Magoosh was totally helpful in inference questions. And there are so many words on the flashcards. By reviewing the flashcards I could review the various TOEFL-words. 2. Listening section. As you guys know, the length of the recording is about 5~6 mins, which is a lot~ longer than the other English Proficiency Test like TEPS or TOEIC. As you know, the listening section is consisted of conversation between the students or between the student and professor, or simple lecture. The Magoosh teacher instructed me to listen it completely and write the simple note to be better at remembering. At first, I didn't even know what it means. That's the reason I failed at first trial. But, Thanks to Lucas Fink, I realized what does "listen completely" thus my listening score had risen dramatically within 3 weeks. 3. Speaking section. It's the only section I got poor at 2nd trial, but no problem. Speaking section consists of 6 different parts. Task 1 and 2 are independent sections that require your own opinion. Task 3 to 6 is integrated sections that require your ability to listen and brief the situation or lecture. Magoosh TOEFL offered me various questions and gave me the sample answers that scored 4. The TOEFL speaking question definitely seems quite "eccentric" if you face it without any preparation since it frequently asks you the question like "What is the most embarrassing moment of your life?" But, thanks to Lucas Fink and Magoosh teacher, I could prepare these kind of eccentric questions. 4. In writing section, as you know, there are integrated section and independent section. Magoosh helped me how to organize my essay and how to get the high score, in both sections!!! Especially, the integrated section requires you to listen the lecture. Listen well is definitely the key to get the high score since this integrated section require you to summarize what you read and what you listened. Heuristically, Magoosh TOEFL was a great teacher to me. I'm Korean and there are so many extracurricular groups named "cram school" or "hak-won". these hak-won costs a lot compared to Magoosh. And doesn't offer the efficient lecture. So, Taking Magoosh may be cost-effective!! [May depends from people to people] I love Magoosh! |
