Hi, I am Zhiyuan Xu. Here I would like to write a response to thank Magoosh. At first, I only learned from my friends that Magoosh GRE was great. Then I wondered if there would be Magoosh Toefl when I was preparing for the toefl test. Yeah! Luckily, my speculation was right and I bought the 1-month premium magoosh immediately. So I recommend Magoosh to attach the link of other products on the websites of Magoosh GRE because they are all great and worth the money. To speak frankly, I bought Magoosh Toefl after when I only got 98 in the first test. You know, although toefl online practice (tpo) is available, the difficulty of the test cannot match the real test. For example, the listening of tpo, especially tpo 1-14 is short in length and slow in speed. A lot of students feel on top of the world when they have achieved 30 in listening in tpo 1-14. However, actually, they are only equipped with the ability to achieve 20 or even slow in the real test. Apart from this, some students with good memory can even memorize the answers when they have finished all the questions of the tpo and want to begin the second round. So there is of no help when they always cling themselves to tpo. That is why I show great preference to Magoosh Toefl. Then I will show my feelings from several aspects: reading, listening, speaking, writing, your services and your videos. First, let’s talk about reading. I am more than glad that I achieved 30 in the test because last time I only got 27. I finished all the questions on the website and got an overall 85% accuracy. Here I want to tell some true feelings. Maybe it would not sound so beautiful but I think these words would help improve Magoosh Toefl. It cannot be denied that the reading is great on the whole, but the difficulty of the reading and the logic of the questions is different from the real test. I find that sometimes question like”the word ...... is close to” is hardest for me. In my second test, I encountered a similar question. According to the confidentiality agreement, I cannot tell the detailed question but here I want to put that the real questions are focused on more seemingly simple words which have some uncommon meanings than difficult words which are often present in Magoosh Toefl reading. Next, I want to talk about the last question, the question 14. The difficulty of the last question cannot compare to the real test. One way to elevate the difficulty is to lengthen the choices, I think. So much about the reading, let’s change to the topic of listening. Second, I want to show my great gratitude here. Magoosh Toefl listening is the best alternative to the real test. The questions are tricky but they can help improve your score. I am satisfied with 26 I got in my second real test. Great! Third, it comes to the speaking. I admit that the videos and explanations are great. Nevertheless, from my perspective, the speaking is the most difficult subsection because you have to devote a lot of energy to speaking and to talk with the real foreigners. I got 23 at first but 22 this time. Anyway, I love the videos because they are clear in explanations. I may need more training. Fourth, the writing is fine. My biggest problem is integrated writing because I will always omit the key points in the listening. Magoosh Toefl helps me a lot but I still think that I need more exercise and the writing in magoosh is much harder than the real test. Fifth, your lesson videos are great. Although I was familiar with the toefl test, I still reviewed some key lessons. They are wonderful. Last but not least, I think your services are among the best ones. I can show a lot of detailed examples. First, when I have some questions and I contact magoosh, teachers in magoosh would contact me in 24 hours without exceptions. I had taken the 7 day study package. The practice sessions were really helpful but I should have taken the package just a week ahead of the exams instead of taking 2 weeks ahead, this would have allowed me to practice a bit more. Nonetheless, the video sessions were really cool. After taking up the practice sessions I was actually scared of speaking and writing and only focused on those in the last few days. The speaking and writing videos and format given by Lucas was really great and I followed the template and the result reflects in my speaking and writing scores. I was a bit disturbed during the first half of my test and I believe that is the reason why my reading and listening scores are not that great. |
